Caipirinha mit Nudeln!
There is just no way I could describe what is going on down at the Wiesen right now. You all will just have to come see for yourself. It’s like an emotional rollercoaster and every night ends with me amazed I made it home on my bike. This weekend I won’t bother with the bike, and I will camp with the hundreds of crazy Bolz fans. I admit, the other World Cup has been very exciting and all, but the real World Cup is about to begin.
On Friday’s opening ceremony at 8pm , the excitement will be revealed. There, we will find out which teams play in rounds together – all on the big screen with a super fancy, I must say, electronic display where you can see each team that is drawn be put into their categories. Of course, a special guest panel of judges including Maradona, Beckham and Birgit Prinz pick the teams at random from little balls. There will be a little surprise at the end… ¡diski!
If you were there at last nights game, you indeed saw Spain triumph. But the best part was really at the beginning of the game anyway, when the national anthems were drowned out to AC/DC’s Hell’s Bells. Yes. Yes. Yes. The Dynamo Legends also had the spotlight and some original Dynamo’s were there to kick the ball around a bit. The showing of the film “25 years Dynamo” was funny, informative, and inspiring. Not to mention the Kids Tournament. There were tons of children running around - it was adorable. The DynaMinis took the cake in terms of sheer cuteness. Because of their obvious tiny nature, the DynaMinis are allowed to have 15 or 16 kids on their team and an adult goalie. They were actually pretty good at winning the ball, probably because it was 3 or 4 against 1
Today is the first ever HandiCup for people with physical or mental disabilities. The love of football knows no boundaries. Tomorrow is the summer olympics . I’m stoked!
